Reading Your SMETS1 – Secure/Liberty 100 Smart Meter
If your smart meter is a first-generation model (SMETS1), it has a keypad. Here’s how to get your meter readings:
For Standard Meters:
- Press 9 on the keypad.
- The screen will show “IMP KWH” and a number, like 0012345.8.
- Write down the numbers before the decimal point only.
- Example: If the screen shows 0012345.8, your reading is 12345.
Multi-rate Smart Meter
If meter has more than one rate.
- Press 6 on the keypad until you see “IMP R01” with a number.
- This is your night/off-peak reading.
- Press 6 again until you see “IMP R02” with another number.
- This is your day/peak reading.
- Write down the numbers before the decimal point for both readings.
- Example: If it shows IMP R01 0004567.8, your reading is 4567.
These steps will help you gather accurate readings from your meter.
Reading Your SMETS2 Smart Meter
Read a SMETS2 Smart Meter Using A and B Buttons. Follow these steps to get your meter readings accurately:
- Access the ‘Reads’ Menu
- Press button B until the screen displays “Total…” or “TOU…” This confirms you have entered the ‘reads’ menu.
- Scroll Through the Readings
- Use button A to scroll through the available readings. You will see options such as:
- Total Active Import kWh
- Total Active Export kWh
- TOU Rate 1
- TOU Rate 2 etc.
- Use button A to scroll through the available readings. You will see options such as:
- Record the Relevant Readings
- For single-rate tariffs, your billing reading will be found under TOU Rate 1 (Day/peak).
- For two-rate tariffs, note down both TOU Rate 1 (day/peak reading) and TOU Rate 2 (night/off-peak reading).
Tip: When recording the readings, only note the numbers to the left of the decimal point.
These steps will help you provide accurate readings to your energy provider for billing purposes.
Reading a (LANDIS+GYR) SMETS2 Smart Meter
To read your LANDIS+GYR SMETS2 smart meter, follow these simple steps:
- For Single/Standard Rate Meters:
- Locate the A button (green) and press it for a few seconds to access the menu.
- Keep pressing the A button until the display shows Total ACT IMPRT.
- This reading is your meter reading. Use only the numbers to the left of the decimal point.
- For Multi-Rate Meters:
- Press and hold the B button (grey) for 5-10 seconds.
- While holding the B button, press the A button to access additional rates.
- The screen will display readings for other rates. Record the relevant ones (e.g., peak and off-peak rates).
These readings will ensure accurate billing, so be sure to note them correctly.
Reading Your Elster A1140 Smart Meter
To read your Elster A1140 smart meter, follow these steps:
- Identify the Buttons
- Locate the two yellow buttons on the meter.
- Retrieve the Meter Readings
- Press the right-hand yellow button to begin a display sequence.
- Look for the reading marked TOU 1 (Rate 1) on the display. This is your main meter reading.
- For Day and Night Rates
- If your meter supports day and night rates, press the right-hand yellow button again.
- The display will then show TOU 2 (Rate 2), which provides the second reading.
Make sure to only note the digits to the left of the decimal point for accurate billing.
Reading Your EDMI MK7 /MK10 Smart Meter
To read your EDMI MK7 or MK10 smart meter (known as RCAMY), follow these steps:
- Understand the Buttons
- Your meter has two buttons labelled CONNECT and SELECT.
- Locate the Meter Reading
- The meter’s LCD display will automatically scroll through information such as the time, date, and meter readings.
- If you wish to manually view the readings, press the SELECT button to cycle through the display options.
- Identify Your Reading
- The meter reading you need will appear as r 1 on the display.
- If you see r 2 or r 3, these correspond to Rate 2 and Rate 3, which apply to multi-rate meters.
- For Day and Night Rates
- If your meter uses day and night rates, press the SELECT button again to view the r 2 reading.
Make sure you note only the numbers to the left of the decimal point for accurate billing.
